Tampa Bay Lightning star forward Brayden Point has signed an eight-year, $76 million contract extension with the team. The deal was announced on July 4, 2023, and includes a cap hit of $9.5 million per season.
Point, 27, has been a key contributor to the Lightning's success in recent years, helping the team win two Stanley Cups in 2020 and 2021. He has recorded 203 points (113 goals, 90 assists) in 384 regular-season games with Tampa Bay and has added 52 points (27 goals, 25 assists) in 64 playoff games.
The Lightning are delighted to retain Point, who is considered one of the league's top young forwards. The contract extension ensures that he will remain a cornerstone of the team's core for the foreseeable future.
