Diamond Shruumz Products Recalled Due to Illnesses

Severe Illnesses Reported After Consuming Infused Products

Consumers Urged to Avoid Product and Report Any Adverse Effects

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have announced a recall of Diamond Shruumz-brand infused products due to illnesses reported in multiple states. As of July 8, at least 58 people in 27 states have developed severe illnesses after consuming the product.

The Washington State Department of Health, the FDA, and the CDC are investigating the cause of the illnesses. The recall was issued by Prophet Premium Blends, the manufacturer of Diamond Shruumz, after it was discovered that the products contained muscimol, a potentially toxic compound found in some mushrooms.

Symptoms of muscimol poisoning can include nausea, vomiting, hallucinations, confusion, and seizures. In severe cases, it can lead to coma or death. Consumers who have purchased Diamond Shruumz products are urged to discard them immediately and not consume them.

The FDA is warning consumers and retailers to not eat, sell, or serve any Diamond Shruumz products. Anyone who has consumed the product and experiences any adverse effects should seek medical attention immediately.

Consumers can report adverse effects to the FDA's MedWatch program at www.fda.gov/medwatch/report.htm or by calling 1-800-332-1088.
