Case to Commence after Jury Selection
A jury has been selected for the upcoming trial in the case of Elon Musk's Tesla funding secured lawsuit. The lawsuit alleges that Musk's tweets claiming he had secured funding were false and misleading. The SEC also brought a securities fraud charge against Musk after his August 2018 tweets stating he had the funding to take Tesla private at $420 per share.
Musk Wins Legal Victory
Earlier in the case, Musk defeated a shareholder lawsuit alleging that his tweets claiming he had the funding secured were false and misleading. However, the SEC's securities fraud charge remains, and the trial is set to begin on February 3, 2023, in San Francisco.
